Happy Birthday to Josh!!

Today, April 2nd is my 6 year spiritual birthday!! I got to share this story in church this morning and I'd like to repeat it here so God would get the glory because of what He has done in my life. 6 years ago on April 1, 2000 (April Fool's Day) I spent my typical Saturday night going out and getting drunk and high. I came back to my dorm room after a night of foolishness and the King of the Universe got my attention and showed me just how big of a fool I was.

Some time after midnight on the 2nd, my wonderful brother in the Lord, Tom Wieme, stepped out in faith and shared the gospel with me that night. Thank you brother, I love you!! He could have just pointed the finger at the drunk guys and said, "There they go again." But he was used by God to change my life forever!

As I started to sober up and realize that my life was messed up and I was not able to pay for my own sin, but that I had to place my trust in Christ alone for my salvation, I felt a weight and a burden lift from my life. I was born again...praise God!!

It has been a wild ride so far and I'm looking forward to the rest of the adventures that the Lord has in store for me and my family. What a joy it is to serve the King of Kings!

There is a Scripture that I shared this morning and I think I will leave it here for you. I love the irony of the whole April Fool's day conversion. Every year it is a reminder that these verses are so true. Now I am a fool for Christ!! Glory to God!

1 Corinthians 1:26-31 says, "For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is
foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom and our righteousness and sanctification and redemption. Therefore, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."

Praise God that he chose a weak, lowly fool like me to live for Him and to make His name known in the world. I will boast about that folks!! May God be glorified in all our lives as we seek to live for Him and serve Him continually!!

If you don't know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, we would love to tell you how you can!
