Happy Birthday to Josh!!
Today, April 2nd is my 6 year spiritual birthday!! I got to share this story in church this morning and I'd like to repeat it here so God would get the glory because of what He has done in my life. 6 years ago on April 1, 2000 (April Fool's Day) I spent my typical Saturday night going out and getting drunk and high. I came back to my dorm room after a night of foolishness and the King of the Universe got my attention and showed me just how big of a fool I was.
Some time after midnight on the 2nd, my wonderful brother in the Lord, Tom Wieme, stepped out in faith and shared the gospel with me that night. Thank you brother, I love you!! He could have just pointed the finger at the drunk guys and said, "There they go again." But he was used by God to change my life forever!
As I started to sober up and realize that my life was messed up and I was not able to pay for my own sin, but that I had to place my trust in Christ alone for my salvation, I felt a weight and a burden lift from my life. I was born again...praise God!!
It has been a wild ride so far and I'm looking forward to the rest of the adventures that the Lord has in store for me and my family. What a joy it is to serve the King of Kings!
There is a Scripture that I shared this morning and I think I will leave it here for you. I love the irony of the whole April Fool's day conversion. Every year it is a reminder that these verses are so true. Now I am a fool for Christ!! Glory to God!
1 Corinthians 1:26-31 says, "For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom and our righteousness and sanctification and redemption. Therefore, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."
Praise God that he chose a weak, lowly fool like me to live for Him and to make His name known in the world. I will boast about that folks!! May God be glorified in all our lives as we seek to live for Him and serve Him continually!!
If you don't know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, we would love to tell you how you can!

We're Back!
Sorry that we've been so slow in getting some pictures and videos posted. Life has been just a little bit crazy. I (Josh) have been working full time and we are busy at church. I had an opportunity to preach at church about a month ago when the pastor was sick and again last weekend when he was in Boston doing his granddaughter's wedding. It takes a lot of time to prepare a sermon and it's a big responsibility to lead the entire service. But it's definitely been a good learning experience and I'm sure it will only help prepare us for whatever God has in the future. Speaking of the future, near future that is, we are just getting going on our support raising as we prepare to head back to East Asia. We will be super busy the next few months as we prepare to leave for Orlando for our training from June 20th-July 24th. Please pray for our sanity and pray that God continues to supply all of our needs. Pray that He brings the new ministry partners that we need to make this happen.
We will try to keep this updated a little more frequently, but please understand that we are pretty busy these days...especially with 2 kids pooping in their pants!! :)
