We need your help!!

Caedmon's parents are having a difficult time deciding how we should spell his nickname. Mom has one opinion and dad has another (shocker!!) Since this is one of those rare situations where we can't agree, we would like to ask for your opinion. For those of you who actually bookmarked this page and check it every now and then, would you please post a comment and let us know what you think. Any additional commentary and persuading arguments are welcome!

I like cade but I think if you change the spelling around everyone will get messed up as to how his real name is spelled so I think you should leave it as CAED

I have to agree with Auntie Sarah on this one...CAED makes more sense since that is how his full name is spelled.

Congrats to all of you. Both of your children are ADORABLE!

I'm going to go different here and say go with Cade. That way it's spelled as it sounds. For people in the future that meet him and don't know his full name they'll know how to say it if they see it as Cade. People may be confused if they see the other spelling. So final vote from me is CADE.

Hmmmm...

A tough one. CAED makes more sense to me, but I can see how people would see it and maybe go, "CAY-UHD."

Let me guess...Linds wanted Caed and Josh wants Cade? :)

Love you guys,

Molly

I'd (Karen) also have to vote for CAED since that's how his name is originally spelled. Andy hasn't seen this yet, so we'll see what he thinks.

I just looked at the extra pictures of Caedmon and have to say that he is just soooooo cute. I especially like the bath pictures! Isabella will be happy to know that her future husband is so handsome!

Love you,
Karen (& Andy and Isabella)

Sorry to disagree with what the majority have voted but because I was an education major and a former 2nd grade spelling bee champion wannabe (yes I did lose in the final round - but I am NOT bitter about it). . . I'd say go with the phonetic spelling of CADE. He won't get hassled then that he spelled it backwards and he gets the sweet bonus of having a cool original name and a cool shorter name too. He'll probably go by Cade in school and all you know, because it's such a cool short name but probably use Caedmon for all the other important things in life (like getting girlfriends. . . and stuff like that) because it's such a great name too. . . so this way he gets the best of both worlds without the hassles of people thinking that he's dyslexic because he switched around the e adn the d in his name. (If you are wondering I spellde that wrong on purpose just to prove my point :) Actually, both spellings are great and more importantly he is ADORABLE!!! We are really thrilled for you guys! miss you tons! Tammy Hunt (& Josh and Abby too!)

I have to say that I really like CAED better. It represents the unique boy he is in Christ, it is the same as his full name, and it's just sweet!
I can't believe I haven't met the little cutie yet, but I will be in town this weekend and will cross my fingers that he comes too! :)
You are the cutest little family I've ever known!

Hey y'all! Andy here this time. When I first heard about this from Karen it was a no brainer -- CAED of course! It fits his real name, which is unique and should be carried over. But, I must say, that a few good points were brought up about the confusion with how it's spoken, etc. This doesn't make it easy. I still must say, though, that I prefer CAED better.
But... I think sticking with his full name is best(again, because of its uniqueness). And if you or anyone calls him by his nickname it will sound the same every time. A thought that I just had; the spelling might not matter so much right now - as he gets older you can allow him to make the choice of how he wants to spell it. I think that would solve the problem. And in these early years you'll probably write his full name anyway for various things.

Oh, and by the way, you better raise that boy right if he is going to marry our daughter!! Just kidding, we know you will. He looks great -- that hair is wild! Anyway, this got a bit long. The grace and peace of our Lord be upon you!

In the Family,
Andy

Grandma (Nai Nai) is a little slow to respond. I think I like Cade because I think that's how people will tend to spell it anyway. But there in lies the problem of people spelling his full name Cademon if his shortened version is Cade. So I guess I'm not that sure. The one thing I do know for sure is he is adorable! Thank you so much for the sweet birth announcement. His big sister looks excited to help announce his arrival.

Love you all so much,
Mom/Nai Nai

Wow, this is a tough call. You have gotten a lot of solid input from so many people who love you all. I am going to go with Cade because most people would then spell and pronounce his nickname right. Either way though, he is awesome. I really (really) enjoyed holding him during worship last Sunday. It was a very special time for me. It was such a blessing and joy to be with you all. Love Granddad, Jeff
